I talk about how ideas become stories, and how stories can become books. I explain to them how I became a self-publish author and how much time you need to make a story become a reality
As an Author, there is nothing more rewarding
than seeing the children’s faces light up after they’ve
enjoyed hearing the story of the
Obiis Chris Ortega.-
I also enjoy taking the opportunity to meet and talk with the children. Hearing that they’ve enjoyed the story and sharing in their laughter. Responding to every child’s questions and how they have enjoyed hearing about the Obiis .
NOW… this is why I love visiting schools and classrooms. To promote the love of reading to every child I can reach and leave knowing that I have given a child a chance to enjoy the love of reading.
Story Time school scheduling status - I am currently available if you would like to schedule a book reading at your school. Please send your contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your interest… I hope to hear from you soon!
Story Time visits - I most often read to children in grades K-4, and the sessions last 25 – 30 minutes. All sessions have storytelling time and then follow with questions and answers.
I talk about how ideas become stories, and how stories can become books. I explain to them how I became a self-publish author and how much time you need to make a story become a reality. I explain how books get published. I show my love for writing and what inspired me to write. I explain to the children how reading has become an important part of my life and encourage the children to read as much as they can to become great readers.
Story Time set-Up – Depending on the number of children, I like to have the children as close as possible. I like to have them seated on the floor, right up close. Auditorium is the least favorite, because the children are to spread out. The cafeteria or music room is fine. I try to keep it as cozy as possible to make storytelling fun and exciting.
Story Time basic Needs – A chair, long table are my only presentation requirements.
Story Time successful Visits – The most important thing is to have the students familiarized with the book. It is necessary that the teacher reads the book and also have the children be familiarized with the story. Books for purchase are available on line at Obiis.com or Amazon.Com.
Other faculty, staff members and parents are invited to sit in on any sessions. I am there for the children, not to discuss with the adults how to get published. Please stress the important of everyone arriving on time and sticking to the schedule. This way everyone benefits and can get the most out of my time.
Story Time autographs – autographing books gives me a chance to meet my reader’s one on one. I’m always happy to sign as many books as you have. Be sure to get books in time enough to properly label them for autographing. Please ask for current ordering information.
Story Time selling books – I prefer that the children have the books during my visit. I don’t carry inventory with me nor will I handle orders. You can obtain books from Obiis.com or Amazon.com.
Story Time fees – fees will be quoted upon request. Expenses may include mileage, lodging, meals and air travel.
